What is private health insurance?

Private health insurance gives you access to eligible treatment when you need it, in a private hospital of your choice from as little as 51 pence a day.

It is designed to pay for conditions which arise after you join.

Lloydspharmacy Health Care and Lloydspharmacy Health Care Plus are provided by AXA PPP healthcare.

No medicals, no messing

With these policies there's no need for you to have any kind of medical examination whatsoever. Included in your cover is:

• Access to over 250 quality-assessed hospitals and at a time that suits you.
• Private en-suite rooms with TV, radio and direct dial phone.
• Provision of chemotherapy drugs like Herceptin.
• £50 cash for every night you spend in an NHS hospital receiving free eligible treatment.
• Diagnostic scans such as CT, MRI and PET scans.
• Private ambulance service.

These policies exclude treatment for pre-existing conditions in the first 2 years. Find out more about cover for pre-existing conditions.

What are the options available to me?

• A Choice of two policies, depending on how much outpatient Minor treatment given at a hospital, consulting room or out-patient clinic where you are not required to stay there for any length of time cover you require.
• Save around 10% more with the 6-week option - Lloydspharmacy Health care 6 and Lloydspharmacy Health care 6 plus. By agreeing to receive treatment on the NHS if they can treat you within 6 weeks of when the treatment is needed, this will reduce your premium.

Premiums are paid monthly. The above examples are based on a male or female living outside London, with £100 mandatory excess and an entry-level 35% no claims discount. Prices valid at 1st October 2009.
